The PyroTechnical Ignition System (PTIS) is a solution that reduces emissions from gas flaring at oil drilling and production sites.
Associated gas from oil production is normally considered as waste and is consequently flared into the atmosphere. It is estimated that globally around 150 billion cubic metres of gas is flared or vented each year, causing some 400 million tons of CO2 in annual emissions. This is equivalent to 30 percent of the European Union’s natural gas consumption. The PTIS system removes the need for pilot flare. The system delivers a cascade of Zirconium sparks over the flare tip to ignite the flare gas when required. While the flaring cannot be entirely stopped, a reliable on demand flare ignition system will significantly reduce the necessity for its use. Lifetime Ignition AS have accumulated years of experience in developing and maintaining an ignition system that limit the use of flare burners and pilot gas. The PTIS is a solution that will decrease black carbon emissions in both domestic and industrial processes, and which can be applied internationally. |

The LP2000 type of ignition system has a reliability at 99.8% (SIL 2 rated). As part of the installation requires special tools and competence to ensure successful system installation, LTI also offers support during installation - as well as support during engineering stages (for system Pellet Tube routing and Pellet Collector localization specifically). |

Service and After sales
LTI offers personnel with high competence and experience within Pyrotechnical (PTIS) Ignition Systems that can mobilize on short notice in case of system malfunction and maintenance.
Within the Team LTI have a high level of knowledge and experience with both the newer Low Pressure PTIS - as well as the older High Pressure BIS systems that utilize FS and RS (open trajectory).
LTI also cooperates with the vendors, Tronrud and FRAMO Services for after sales of special items, i.e. System Magazine and Pellet Collector.
Together with FRAMO Services, LTI team also have experience and knowledge of specialized parts for High Pressure BIS Systems.
